100ml of tonic water
Ice
Cucumber slice and fresh basil (optional)

Ustensils

Stemmed glass

How to do it

Fill a stemmed glass with ice to the top to keep it cool. Pour 50ml of Sober Spirits Gin 0.0%.

Top up the glass with tonic water (about 100ml), pouring slowly to retain as many bubbles as possible.

Stir gently to mix the gin and tonic.

Garnish with a lemon slice, basil, or cucumber.

Depending on your preferences, you can replace classic tonic water with flavored tonics.

Bartender tips

To create a decoration that will surprise all your guests at the aperitif, take a whole cucumber and a peeler. Use the peeler to shave a thin, long strip of cucumber and place it on the interior edges of your glass. Angle it for a visually striking cucumber-infused cocktail from Sober.

Origins of the cocktail

The Gin Tonic was born in the 19th century in colonial India, where quinine was mixed with tonic water to reduce its bitterness. The British added gin and sometimes lemon or lime to improve the taste. This mixture became a popular cocktail, enjoyed today around the world for its simplicity and freshness.
